FOTINI mpalli
Where Soul and Light Meet
Fotini Mpalli is a painter based in Greece whose artistic journey began in childhood, through an intuitive exploration of colour, movement and materials.
Her talent was formally recognised when she was admitted to the School of Fine Arts through entrance examinations, presenting a portfolio of her work. At the time, family responsibilities made it impossible for her to pursue formal studies in Fine Art. Her teachers, recognising the distinctiveness of her emerging artistic language, encouraged her to preserve her individual style rather than allow it to be shaped by academic convention.
She subsequently pursued studies in psychology and psychotherapy, building a long professional career devoted to understanding the human experience. Although painting remained a constant thread throughout her life and her works were occasionally sold, her artistic practice eventually moved into the background. Today, she returns to painting with a mature perspective shaped by both artistic intuition and a deep understanding of the inner world.
Drawing inspiration from the sea, its inner breath, the light that travels across the waves, and the pauses within movement, Fotini explores the delicate balance between light and dark, flow and stillness. For her, painting is not simply a technique — it is the space where soul and light meet.
